A Connecticut man is recovering after his gun discharged while he was showing it to his girlfriend, police say.

A Bridgeport, Conn., man is recovering after doing his best Plaxico Burress impression.

Josinar Araujo, 24, was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center after accidentally shooting himself in the groin, police told the News Times.

Araujo was showing his girlfriend his gun, when it went off, police said.

To add insult to injury, Araujo's girlfriend, Christine Belknap, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia because she had a pipe used for smoking crack cocaine, police told the News Times.
