CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 20, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Swisher Hygiene, Inc. ("Swisher Hygiene") (Nasdaq:SWSH) (TSX:SWI), a leading provider of essential hygiene and sanitation products and services, today announced that it has acquired Chemical Sanitizing Systems, LTD ("Chemical Sanitizing Systems"), a Le Mars, Iowa-based hygiene and chemicals company.
Chemical Sanitizing Systems has been in business since 1990 and serves Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota along with parts of eastern Wyoming. Chemical Sanitizing Systems provides specialty chemicals and service programs such as warewash, laundry, housekeeping and floor care to the foodservice and hospitality industries, with its products delivered by its employees. Concurrent with the acquisition, John Nobel, the Founder of Chemical Sanitizing Systems, will be joining Swisher Hygiene.

Total consideration paid for by Swisher Hygiene in connection with the acquisition includes $100,000 in cash, the assumption of certain liabilities and the issuance of up to 98,381 shares of common stock of Swisher Hygiene, subject to certain restrictions, including acceptance by the Toronto Stock Exchange.
