Virtual Conference to Address Java and Cloud Development Challenges; Highlight
DETROIT and AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands, April 26, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq:CPWR), the technology performance company, today announced that its Uniface Business Unit will detail its vision for enterprise and cloud application development at iCU2011. The virtual event for the Compuware Uniface development community, iCU2011 will address the challenges of traditional Java enterprise application development, the emerging future of cloud-based development and the strategic direction for the Uniface product family. Additionally, Compuware will demonstrate innovations that enable JavaScript developers to harness Uniface's exceptional development productivity.
"It's exciting to hear that Compuware is opening up Uniface to the huge community of JavaScript developers," said Al Hilwa, Program Director for Application Development Software, IDC. "The JavaScript and web communities will be more likely to try Uniface and experience the benefits of efficient development that productive development environments like Uniface have to offer. The iCU2011 virtual conference is a great place to learn how these two technologies intersect."
Developers from around the world will come together virtually to attend iCU2011 on May 10, 2011. Over a 12-hour period, iCU2011 will follow the sun – first in Asia Pacific; then Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and finally to the Americas. For each region there will be four hours of live online video presentations and Q&A, sessions focusing on key development issues, as well as virtual exhibition booths and a virtual Technology Campground. Among the keynote speakers will be Mike Gualtieri, Senior Analyst at Forrester Research Inc, and Rick van der Lans, Managing Director of R20/Consultancy B.V., an author and internationally acclaimed lecturer.
"Enterprise development teams worldwide are under great pressure to build applications that leverage disruptive technologies such as cloud and mobile computing," said Aad van Schetsen, Senior Vice President, Uniface Business Unit for Compuware Corporation. "Uniface is helping organizations achieve this, and we are thrilled to be sharing our vision, best practices and a ground-breaking new version of Uniface at iCU2011. Last year we attracted almost 1,000 attendees, and we expect iCU2011 to be even more popular because of our highly compelling – and quite controversial – agenda."
