As an advocate of the New York Jewish Community, James Robins, MD, an attending anesthesiologist and the Chief of Mobile Anesthesia Services at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York has shown his support over the years through his involvement in coordinating development efforts for communal planning and philanthropy within the community. On March 24, 2011, the UJA-Federation of New York recognized Dr. Robins for his steadfast commitment to the community at their North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System Physicians and Dentists Cocktail Gala. 

In addition, during these difficult economic times, Neil Kirschen, MD andPatricia Kirschen, LAC continue to show their communal support with their involvement in providing Long Island's Hispanic youth with better educational opportunities. Dr. Kirschen is the Chief of Pain Management, in the Department of Anesthesiology at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, New York and at the Pain Management Center of Long Island in Rockville Centre, New York andMrs. Kirschen is aDiplomat of Acupuncture and a practicing licensed acupuncturist at the Pain Management Center of Long Island in Rockville Centre, New York. The Hispanic Brotherhood of Rockville Centre will be honoring Dr. Neil and Patricia Kirschen at their 26th Annual Scholarship Dinner being held on May 5, 2011. The scholarship fund provides financial support to deserving students within the Rockville Centre School District graduating to a higher education. In addition, these funds are used by the non-profit organization towards its After School Tutorial Program.
