Police say jewels valued at €18 million ($25 million), many stolen from the luxury Harry Winston boutique in Paris, have been found in a rain sewer outside Paris.
Investigators found 19 rings and three sets of earrings, including one pair valued at €14 million ($19.5 million).
Police say they were found at a home in the Seine-Saint-Denis region northeast of Paris, hidden in a plastic container set in a cement mold in a rain sewer. The police confirmed a report Tuesday on Europe-1 radio.
The bold Harry Winston heist on Dec. 5, 2008 netted the thieves up to €85 million ($118.1 million) in jewels. Nine people were charged in the heist and jailed in June 2009.
Police said the home where the jewels were found belonged to one of those charged.
