IRVING, Texas, Feb. 25, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- WebSafety, Inc. (OTCBB:WBSI), the leading provider of mobile phone software solutions that prevent texting, emailing and web browsing while driving as well as other dangerous or predatory activities, today announced that the company's mobile phone application, CellSafety, was recently named as AOL Parentdish's "Daily Dish Pick."

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, texting while driving is more dangerous than drinking and driving. The U.S. Department of Transportation estimates that 15 people are killed every day due to distracted driving.

CellSafety utilizes GPS to determine when a mobile phone user is in a vehicle travelling over 10 miles per hour. If the user is a passenger, they can request the administrator, usually a parent or employer, to temporarily disable the feature so that they can safely use the phone from the passenger's seat.

The CellSafety application can also send a text message to a designated number if the phone being tracked is in a vehicle exceeding a preset limit. This speed alert is one of many additional features controlled via a registered account at the WebSafety website.

"While many adults have come to realize that texting while driving is a dangerous activity, most teenagers and young adults are tempted to answer texts, emails and chat as soon as they are notified of an incoming communication," stated Rowland Day, WebSafety's CEO.

"CellSafety protects these young drivers and the people around them," he continued, "and we are honored that AOL Parentdish, a leading parenting website with 3.9 million moms and dads visiting each month, has selected our patented-pending technology for this national recognition."
