Given what happened to Howard Dean after the news media deemed him the front-runner for the Democratic nomination, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry must remain wary even after winning a slew of primaries in recent weeks.
So far in 2004, according to MSNBC’s count, Kerry has 262 delegates, as of Wednesday, with 2,162 needed to secure the nomination.
Kerry’s next-closest competitor in the delegate tally, Howard Dean, had 511 delegates, while North Carolina Sen. John Edwards had 164. Howard Dean has 184. However, Dean has clearly lost momentum.

As for Clark, well he's gone, formally withdrawing from the race Wednesday.
