With more than 20 years of experience, Diamond will focus on new client development and service to the bank's high-net-worth clients in San Jose, Silicon Valley, and the Peninsula. These services include tailored investment management, trust, credit and banking services for high-net-worth families, select nonprofits and professional services firms. She will advise on comprehensive wealth management strategies and private banking solutions.

Diamond will report to Kent Grubaugh, a senior vice president and manager of Private Client Services in Northern California. She will initially be based at City National's San Jose office which is located at 224 Airport Parkway.

"We are very excited to have Kathryn join our seasoned team of banking professionals," said Grubaugh. "She brings a strong history of service to her clients in addition to broad experience in private wealth management."

Diamond previously served as vice president and senior private banker for Wells Fargo's Private Bank in San Jose. Prior to that, she was a relationship manager for First Republic Bank in Palo Alto where she advised high-net-worth clients in Silicon Valley on financial strategies.
