Police issued a statement Sunday saying the fight broke out in the nightclub of the Grand Paradise Bavaro hotel in Punta Cana. It's unclear who started it and why.

The man who died was identified as 19-year-old Morrison Jordan. His hometown was not released.

Police say he suffered severe trauma in the fight Saturday and died at a local hospital.

Four Canadians and 1 Algerian were injured in the fight at the club about 125 miles east of Santo Domingo.
