A former public works employee in North Branford said his inability to "urinate on demand" has cost him his job.
Daniel Pond is now suing the town, reports the New Haven Register.
The lawsuit says "documented medical disabilities" made it virtually impossible for Pond to urinate on demand for drug tests in 2008 and 2009, including after drinking "large amounts of fluid."
Pond was fired in June 2009 for violating the town's drug-free policy.
An attorney for North Branford told the Register that the town is relying on drug-testing guidelines from the state Department of Transportation and is "confident" it will be vindicated.
