(Pink Sheets:AVEW) today announced that its World Championship Full Contact (WCFC) brand has reached a preliminary agreement with local area Telemundo and Azteca America television stations to begin airing edited versions of its live mixed martial arts events. Under the terms of the agreement, WCFC will distill its live events into several 30 minute programs that focus on individual matchups featuring biographical information on the fighters and interviews, and culminating in the fight itself.
Joe Wooten, CEO of ActionView, commented, "We are thrilled to begin working with local Telemundo and Azteca America channels to bring the WCFC to the Spanish speaking fan base. The Hispanic demographic includes a huge fan base for mixed martial arts and this agreement will assist us with introducing them to the WCFC brand. By condensing a three-hour event into a half-hour format, we can better showcase individual athletes and focus on the action, creating what we all believe will be compelling programming."
WCFC live events, and the complete video-on-demand archive of prior broadcasts, will continue to be available exclusively on . Under the terms of the preliminary agreement, WCFC will add Spanish language graphics and commentary and also include additional, behind the scenes, footage and interviews that are not part of the live broadcast.
Mr. Wooten added, "Our immediate plan is to introduce the reformatted, Spanish language show into a few select markets as a weekly program starting in late February to determine the optimal time slot.
