SAN RAMON, Calif., Jan. 25, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Roberta Silverstein, marketing communications director for MoCA®, has been named by Customretailer.net as one of its '2011 Young Turks of CE' (Consumer Electronics). The annual crop of 45 young industry dynamos honors those who have made a significant contribution to the CE industry over the last year and who will continue to shape the products and services in this dynamic sector tomorrow.

MoCA made a strategic decision in 2010 to work more closely with customer installers and electronic system contractors (ESCs) to better serve the growing retrofit market for home entertainment networking. To this end, Roberta played a key role in establishing a strong relationship with CEDIA® (Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association), working closely with Mike Ehlenberger, MoCA Chair of the Emerging Markets Task Force.

MoCA became a CEDIA member last October. Participation in, and support of, CEDIA extends the reach of MoCA into the home via a recognized and professional organization of installers and integrators.

"Roberta certainly deserves to be honored for spreading the MoCA message among the CE and customer installer/ESC market. She has been a major force behind our participation in CEDIA, which is already paying dividends. The retrofit market for home entertainment networking is gathering pace and Roberta's hard work has put MoCA firmly on the map," said Charles Cerino, MoCA president.

"MoCA and CEDIA are a natural fit and Roberta has been instrumental in educating ESCs and custom installers about the benefits of using MoCA technology for moving HD content around the home using existing coaxial cabling. MoCA offers CEDIA members the prospect of an additional revenue stream, while MoCA benefits from an additional route to market," said Mike Ehlenberger, MoCA Chair of the Emerging Markets Task Force.
