What:
The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. will open its market remotely from outside the United States from Davos, Switzerland at the World Economic Forum's Annual meeting. On Thursday, January 27th NASDAQ OMX Chief Executive Officer Bob Greifeld will participate in the market open with NASDAQ OMX officials and NASDAQ listed companies. This is the sixth market open NASDAQ OMX has held remotely from Davos.
The Opening Bell ceremony will be simultaneously displayed on the NASDAQ MarketSite Tower, NASDAQ's iconic digital sign in the heart of Times Square and the NASDAQ Wall within the MarketSite broadcast studio.
The NASDAQ Opening Bell is a ceremonial event held daily to represent NASDAQ OMX's virtual market model. As a result, the NASDAQ market can be opened from any location bringing together electronically investors and market participants from around the world to mark the beginning of the trading day.
