A 53-year-old man faces a felony battery charge after deputies say he stabbed another man in the eye with a fork.

According to a Lee County Sheriff's Office report, Robert McEwen and Oran Turner got into a fight at the Shrimp Docks restaurant on Fort Myers Beach on Jan. 12.

Turner left the restaurant, went home, grabbed a fork and told his roommate he was going to stab McEwen for beating him up, according to the report.

As McEwen and a female friend were walking past her residence in the Sunnyland Mobile Home Park, Turner reportedly ran up to McEwen and used the fork to stab him in the eye.

McEwen was taken to Health Park Medical Center in Fort Myers for treatment.

According to the Sheriff's Office, he later underwent surgery to repair the eye.

Detectives arrested Turner on Jan. 21 and took him to the Lee County Jail for booking.
