No. 10 North Carolina will be without forward Jessica Breland when the Tar Heels visit No. 15 Maryland on Sunday.

Team officials said Saturday in a statement that Breland underwent arthroscopic surgery Friday to remove two "loose bodies" in her left knee.

Breland is averaging 12.6 points and 7.5 rebounds for the Tar Heels (17-2, 3-1 Atlantic Coast Conference). The fifth-year senior sat out last season while she was treated for Hodgkin's lymphoma.
