ROCKPORT - Two hog hunters from Rockport have been chosen to appear in a hot new series on the Discovery Channel. Joshua and Krystal White will be aired on Discovery's Channel's "Hogs Gone Wild."
And the two have had their hands full handling both the hogs and the camera crews.
"The Discovery Channel is focusing on the severe epidemic. And not only in Texas, this epidemic is spreading across the entire world," said Krystal.
The Whites have owned L3 Outdoors for several years now. The company offers extreme hog removal for farmers and ranchers with a serious Ferrel hog problem.
"We're talking about Ferrel hogs. A domestic hog has gotten loose and over periods of several hundred years they're basically a wild animal now," said Joshua.
And it's these sadistic swine have been running amok all across Texas, destroying crops and hurting the natural balance of the ecosystem.
Joshua explained, "They're not idigineous to Texas. They're not supposed to be here. They're not supposed to be in the United States at all."
Which is why the discovery channel sent out a camera crew to film the couple as they fight back against the problematic porkers.
"We had to really make some adjustments, it's really hard hunting with a camera crew following you," said Joshua.
But according to the pair, the Discovery Crew has gotten some pretty exciting footage of them in action.
The film crew from Discovery will join the Whites on several more hunts and the series is scheduled to air January 16th, 23rd, and 30th on the Discovery Channel.
