In a Jan. 20 story about the death of the wife of Israel's President Shimon Peres, The Associated Press erroneously identified British-ruled Palestine as Israel.
The story reported that Sonya Peres emigrated to Israel as a child, but the territory at the time was under British control and called Palestine.
