WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD - A Middletown man is dead after his Ford collided with a van.
According to state police, 20-year-old Tyler Shaw was driving eastbound on Route 40 just before midnight Friday.
Officials say Shaw's vehicle crossed the median off Route 40 in the area of Crystal Falls Drive. They are not sure why his vehicle veered into oncoming traffic.
Both Shaw and the driver of the other vehicle were transferred to Meritus Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The other driver suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Officials say Shaw was not wearing a seat belt.
