New York, NY, Jan. 18, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Spector & Associates, a nationally recognized business-to-business communications firm, today announced the promotion of Elliott Suthers to Vice President, effective immediately. A native of Sydney, Australia, Suthers was recently named a finalist for PR Week’s Young Professional of the Year award.
As Vice President, he will serve as senior communications counselor for the firm’s global defense, financial and technology accounts. He will also lead the firm’s overseas expansion efforts, and continue to build its capabilities in government affairs, investor relations and biotech.

Since joining Spector & Associates in September 2009, Suthers has served as senior account supervisor, providing issue advocacy, legislative affairs programs and crisis management counsel for some of the agency’s largest international accounts. Most notably, the programs Suthers developed have been widely cited for their success in procurement of government contracts.
Before he joined the firm, Suthers served as a media advisor to the senatorial campaign of Joe Lieberman and the presidential campaign of John McCain. He also supported PR and government relations efforts for the United Nations Development Programme in Washington, D.C.
Suthers graduated with a B.A. in Communications and Conflict/Security Studies from the University of Sydney.
