ATLANTA, Jan. 17, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Racemi today announced that James Strayer has joined as vice president of product management and marketing, a newly created position for the growing company of datacenter automation software, which facilitates migration to cloud computing.

Strayer joins from Symantec and will report to company CEO, Lawrence Guillory. He brings more than a decade of product management and marketing experience. At the Fortune 500 company, Symantec, he led product management efforts for the Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) business and worked with key OEM partners such as HP and Dell. Before that, at Altiris, he contributed to the company’s growth, which led to the acquisition by Symantec for $830 million in April 2007. Strayer graduated from Utah Valley University with a degree in Life Sciences.

"James is an important addition to our team as we build out our network of partners using Racemi technology to automate the datacenter and enable migration of server images across private and public clouds," said Lawrence Guillory, CEO of Racemi. "His experience is perfectly matched to work with OEMs and managed service providers (MSPs) wanting to add cloud on-boarding capabilities to their offerings."

Racemi’s easy-to-integrate OEM automation technology migrates server images in the datacenter, as well as to cloud computing resources like Amazon, GoGrid, Rackspace and Terremark. It does this regardless of the underlying operating system, application software, configuration, or even the physical, virtual, or cloud infrastructure.
