LAS VEGAS - A new blood pressure cuff compatible with Apple products allows users to measure and monitor their blood pressure using an iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch.

The cuff is made by Withings, the company that brought us the Internet-connected bathroom scale.

The Withings Blood Pressure monitor connects to your favorite iDevice through the data and charging port and measurements are made using a downloadable app.

The resulting data is stored online, where it can be viewed and shared securely with your doctor, the company said.

The Withings Blood Pressure monitor "allows users to see monitor changes in their blood pressure over long periods of time, instead of just remembering the last measurement," Withings chairman Eric Carreel told TechNewsDaily.

The company says its Blood Pressure monitor will be available this month for $129 US.
