ROCKVILLE, Md., Dec. 29, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Telvent (Nasdaq:TLVT), the leading real-time IT solutions and information provider for a sustainable world, announced today that it has been selected by Shanxi Electric Power Company to implement a new data acquisition system that will allow the company to address service outages more quickly and provide a more reliable network.
With China's booming economy, the demand on the current power grid is quickly growing. Shanxi Electric Power Company will implement Telvent's OASyS Dynamic Network of Application (DNA) to help them make faster operational decisions, increase customer satisfaction and cut costs. Specifically, Shanxi will be able to highlight exact locations of potential trouble spots on a power diagram for more efficient troubleshooting and maintenance. The new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) will also meet new functionalities required by the China State Grid Corporation.
