Some yoga studios are offering their own jobless benefit: free classes.

With national unemployment just below 10 percent, $20 yoga classes don't qualify as necessities for many unemployed people who've pruned luxuries from their budgets.

So, now, in studios in New York, Columbus, Ohio, and other cities, former managers, laid-off limo drivers and other jobless people can turn to downward dog, lotus or other yoga positions to ease the stress of being out of work.

Some yogis — like Zack Lynn in Ohio — say they don't want unemployed people to have to choose between food and yoga.

They say breathing exercises can cut through the stress of job interviews and post-stretching tea-time is good for networking.
