Sure enough, John Teeter's efforts paid off.

A girl who had taken the wallet from a Subway counter in Destin got in touch with Teeter on Friday, two days after she took the billfold he had left behind. She returned the money and apologized.

Teeter is an out of work handyman. He was carrying the money on him because he was shopping for a utility trailer. He doesn't plan to press charges against the girl.
