General Motors is recalling nearly 4,000 Cadillac SRX crossovers from the 2010 model year to fix power steering problems that could lead to engine fires.

GM says in a statement that power steering fluid could leak and lead to a fire in the engine compartment. The Detroit automaker says it is aware of one fire in an unattended SRX.

There have been no crashes or injuries linked to the problem.

The vehicles under recall were built in December 2009. Most of the vehicles are in the United States and more than 300 were exported to China.

GM says it believes only a small number of the recalled vehicles have the problem. Owners will be notified about the recall and their vehicles will be repaired at no charge.
