SAN MATEO, Calif., Sept. 30, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- SDForum, Silicon Valley's leading source of information and education in the technology community, will host the first ever conference on how innovative technologies in Denmark and the U.S. can address today's challenges in the health care sector. The two-day conference is presented in partnership with Innovation Center Denmark and takes place at Stanford University, October 26-27, 2010.
The conference is a unique opportunity to meet Danish business and hospital executives, startups, scientists and government officials whose technologies and research are behind what the Commonwealth Study concluded is the most efficient IT health care system in the world. Insights will also be provided by leaders and influencers in California, the sixth largest economy in the world and a front runner state in the nation's use of electronic health records and home to agenda setting companies and hospitals.

The use of electronic health records alone currently saves physicians in Denmark an average of 50 minutes a day in administrative work and Denmark's health system, encompassing its 5.5 million people, as much as $120 million a year.
"Not just providing access, but extracting relevant patient data across these platforms is the next step, which will empower both the patient and the clinician to make evidence-based treatment decisions," says Henning Bruun-Schmidt, ACURE's director of Market Development.
