Msnbc.com is looking for a highly motivated developer for its Client Platform team.
Here is a short description of what you can expect:
- You will be building our next generation client application framework as well as the next generation of internal tools focused on editorial productivity and workflows that we are building on top of this framework – all that in Silverlight
- You will be part of a small team inside the Platform group, working with high caliber developers, owning the design and implementation of end to end features
-You will have a degree of freedom only seen at startups (don’t like something? Great! Let’s make it better)
-Your software will be released every 2 weeks (we avoid 5 year plans and 2 year cycles)
Here is what we expect from you:
- You must be fluent in C#, intimately familiar with Silverlight and/or WPF, MVVM, and be a XAML expert
- We won’t hire you based on keywords, but you should be conversant in most of the following and an expert in at least one: ASP.NET, WCF, SQL, MVC, SOA, SOAP, XML
- You must be able to work independently and think of the entire aspect of your features, including - but not limited to -- visual design, performance characteristics, and architecture
- You must have excellent communication skills – both written and spoken. Good ideas aren’t very useful if they get stuck inside your head
- You must be a team player – we develop projects with small teams. If you’re a loner or can’t play well with others, you won’t last long
Cherry on the cake: you have an eye for UI design and cool ideas for making UI’s look great.
