WILMINGTON, Del., Sept. 16, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- WSFS Financial Corporation (Nasdaq:WSFS), the parent company of WSFS Bank, held an event at the Glen Mills banking office on Friday, September 10, 2010 to showcase the pet pictures submitted in the "WSFS Bank Pet Photo Contest," and to present a donation to the Delaware Humane Association (DHA). The contest to find the winners in the categories of Best in Show and Funny ran at all WSFS Bank branches from July 16 – 31, 2010.

The contest to find the winners in the categories of Best in Show and Funny ran at all WSFS Bank branches from July 16 – 31, 2010.

"The Pet Contest continues to be a great success," said Richard M. Wright, Executive Vice President & Director of Retail Banking and Marketing. "We received over 800 pet photos in this year's contest, a true testament to how passionate people are about their pets and their commitment to support a worthy cause." 

The winning pet in the Best in Show category, a Goldendoodle puppy named Max from Chadds Ford, PA was in attendance as well as the winners in the Funny category, Macey, Jessica and Holly from Dover, DE. Max's photo from his photo shoot was debuted and the DHA had pets available for adoption at the event. Richard Wright and Michael Skipper, Director of Community Relations at WSFS Bank, were on hand to present the $1,500 check to the DHA. WSFS donated $1 for every checking account opened through the contest.
