SAN DIEGO, Sept. 14, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- City National Bank, California's Premier Private and Business Bank®, announced today that Christopher L. Crockett has been appointed senior vice president and regional manager of its Core Banking Division in San Diego.

Crockett, who has more than 30 years of banking experience, will manage City National's eight San Diego branches and spearhead the delivery of its small business, personal and preferred banking services. Crockett's office is located in the bank's regional center in La Jolla, where he will work alongside Stephen Cusato, senior vice president and manager of City National's Commercial Banking Services, and Carla Furuno, senior vice president and manager of Private Client Services.
City National has been doing business in San Diego since 1979 and today employs more than 120 people there. The county is home to City National's 401(k) administration program, which oversees investment assets of $4.2 billion for companies nationwide.
On May 7, City National acquired San Diego-based 1st Pacific Bank, adding five new local branches to its previous total of three. City National now has branches in San Diego: Carlsbad, Downtown San Diego, El Cajon, Inland North County, La Jolla, La Jolla Village, Mission Valley and Solana Beach.

Crockett joins City National after more than 15 years with San Diego National Bank, where he was a senior vice president and group manager in charge of 28 branches. He previously worked for International Savings Bank in San Diego and HomeFed Bank.

A resident of San Diego since 1987, Crockett has strong ties to the community. He has been involved with the United Way, the George G. Glenner Family Alzheimer's Centers and has served on the boards of The Old Globe Theater and the Mission Valley YMCA.
Crockett earned his bachelor's degree in public affairs from the University of Southern California.
