Mr. Armstrong will work with Heidrick & Struggles' Financial Services and Global Technology & Services practices, delivering executive search and related advisory services to help Canadian client organizations create leadership teams that are better positioned to manage the ever-changing complexities of their businesses.

He has exceptional insight into the strategic and operational challenges and opportunities organizations in the financial services and technology sectors face, having joined the firm from Accenture, where he served most recently as the managing director of its Financial Services business in Canada and as a member of its Canadian Executive Committee. He also led Accenture's Management Consulting practice across all industries, as well as serving in a variety of other leadership roles during his 12 years with Accenture. Prior to Accenture, Mr. Armstrong was managing director of Monitor Company Canada, a prominent strategy consulting firm.

Mr. Armstrong serves on the Ontario Task Force on Competitiveness, Productivity and Economic Growth and has written a number of articles on competitiveness and innovation, including co-authoring with Professor Michael Porter and Rotman Dean Roger Martin, "Canada at the Crossroads," a comprehensive study of Canada's competitiveness. He also serves as a volunteer advisor at MaRS Discovery District, working with entrepreneurs and emerging companies. He is an Institute Certified Director (ICD.D) of the Institute of Corporate Directors in Canada.

Mr. Armstrong is an active supporter of the charitable sector and currently serves on the Major Individual Gifts Cabinet for the United Way of Toronto and on the board of directors of the United Way of Oakville.

Mr. Armstrong earned his MBA, with High Distinction, from Harvard University, graduating as a George F. Baker Scholar. He also earned his bachelor of commerce, with distinction, from the University of Toronto, where he has been active in fundraising, as well as having served as a member of the Audit Committee.
