'Deborah Norville tonight' premieres Wednesday, Jan. 21

Award-winning broadcast journalist Deborah Norville joins MSNBC beginning Wednesday, Jan. 21, it was announced today by Erik Sorenson, President and General Manager, MSNBC. "Deborah Norville Tonight," featuring interviews with the people making news on the biggest and most compelling stories of the day, will telecast weeknights, 9-10 p.m. (ET).

"Deborah is the ideal host, who can offer thought-provoking interviews and really deliver the stories people are talking about," Sorenson said. "Deborah is a great addition to our strong primetime line-up, and complements our superbly talented team of Dan Abrams, Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann and Joe Scarborough."

"After many years as a broadcast journalist, I'm really excited to be part of the MSNBC primetime line-up at a time when so many critical issues are making headlines. Telecasting from 30 Rockefeller Center in New York City and from MSNBC headquarters in Secaucus, NJ, "Deborah Norville Tonight" will feature interviews with top newsmakers, in-depth coverage of the day’s biggest stories and the issues of the day.

A two-time Emmy Award-winner, Norville anchors the syndicated program "Inside Edition," the top rated syndicated newsmagazine on television, and will continue to do so. Norville previously served as a network news reporter and anchor for CBS News and NBC News, including as co-host of NBC News’ "Today," 1989-91. She is also the author of three books, "Back on Track: How To Straighten Out Your Life When It Throws You A Curve" (Simon & Schuster, 1997); "I Don’t Want To Sleep Tonight" (Golden Books, 1999); and"I Can Fly" (Golden Books, 2001).
