Set your alarm clock. MSNBC’s Willie Geist celebrates one year of early morning wake-up calls as "Way Too Early with Willie Geist" broadcasts live from the heart of the city that never sleeps on Tuesday, July 27. The special anniversary broadcast live from Times Square will feature a look back at the best ‘morning buzz’ from the past year including highlights in news, politics, sports, and pop culture.
"I fully expect a chaotic and jubilant New Year's Eve-style scene in Times Square as America pauses to celebrate the show's first birthday," said Geist. "When the clock strikes 5:30 a.m., I'll be thinking of our millions of loyal viewers huddled around TV sets, drinking champagne with their children, and ringing in another year of ‘Way Too Early.’"
Geist anchors the fast-paced show, which airs live weekdays from 5:30 – 6:00 a.m. ET leading into "Morning Joe" (weekdays 6:00-9:00 a.m. ET). Geist brings his signature style and sense of humor to the thirty-minute broadcast, offering viewers everything they need to know to start the morning.
Geist is also the co-anchor of “Morning Joe” and hosts the popular satirical video blog Zeitgeist (www.zeitgeist.msnbc.com). Zeitgeist was the No. 3 most visited cable network news website for the week ending July 17, according to Hitwise.
Chris Licht is the executive producer of "Way Too Early with Willie Geist" and “Morning Joe.”
