Continental Airlines made extensive renovations to the terminal at Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Continental Airlines Inc. said on Wednesday that it has fully reopened Terminal C at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston after extensive renovations.

The airport is Continental's largest hub. Continental said it expanded the ticketing and check-in areas by more than 15,000 square feet, and added 56 electronic check-in kiosks. The kiosks bring the total number of places to check in to 115, Continental said.

Continental said the city of Houston paid for the $65 million project, while the airline managed it. Continental said the renovation was the terminal's first since it opened in 1981.

Continental and United Airlines are trying to get approval for a deal that would combine them into the world's largest airlines. They have said Houston would continue as a hub for the combined airline.
