According to Nielsen Media Research data, "Meet the Press" was top-rated Sunday morning public affairs program for the week ending April 18. “Meet the Press” attracted 2.981 million total viewers (2.2/7 HH), +12% more (+324,000) than second place ABC's 2.657 million total viewers (1.9/5 HH), a 18% advantage (+445,000) over CBS's 2.536 million total viewers (1.8/5 HH), and a 155% (1.810 million) lead over FOX's 1.171 million total viewers (0.8/2 HH). "Meet the Press" delivered an additional 1.218 million viewers with rebroadcasts on the network and MSNBC.
In Washington D.C., the NBC broadcast was also No. 1, with 144,000 viewers (5.2/16 HH), a +1008% advantage over ABC's 13,000 (0.5/1 HH), a +148% lead over CBS's 58,000 (2.0/6 HH), and +500% more than FOX's 24,000 viewers (1.0/3).
Nationally, in the key demographics women, men and adults "Meet the Press" topped the competition in each category. Among the key demographic adults 25-54, the NBC program had a 0.8 rating, ABC was second with a 0.7 rating, CBS tied for second with a 0.7 rating, and Fox came in last with a 0.4 rating.
Last week featured an exclusive interview with Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner. The roundtable featured Governor Ed Rendell, Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn, National Journal's Ron Brownstein, and Telemundo's Jose Diaz-Balart.
On its digital platforms, "Meet the Press" generated more than 248,000 online video streams from April 18 through April 22, 2010. The "Meet the Press" video podcast (available at ) remains the top ranked network Sunday Morning program podcast on iTunes.
