Vice President Joe Biden's son is on his way home from the hospital a week after what doctors said was a mild stroke.
Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden was released from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia early Tuesday afternoon.
"I am pleased to report that the results of his final discharge general and neurological exam find his neurological status perfect in all arenas including motor skills, language function, and cognitive assessment," said Biden's doctor, Dr. Robert Rosenwasser of Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience.
The 41-year-old will continue recuperating at home, and it is unclear when he might return to work.
Biden was admitted to Christiana Hospital in Newark last Tuesday and transferred later that day to Thomas Jefferson, the largest center in the region for treating strokes and aneurysms.
Biden announced in January that he would not run for the Senate seat held for more than 30 years by his father, but instead would seek re-election as attorney general.
