A man who claimed to be a leader of al-Qaida in Britain and invited people to support the terror group has pleaded guilty in northern England to a series of terrorist offenses.
Ishaq Kanmi has admitted professing to belong to al-Qaida and disseminating terrorist publications.
The 23-year-old Kanmi is also accused of calling for the assassination of Britain's political leaders. Appearing at a court in Manchester on Monday, he denied soliciting the murder of Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his predecessor Tony Blair.
Prosecutors say Kanmi declared on a radical Web site in January 2008 that Brown and Blair would be sought by "martyrdom seekers" if they didn't withdraw British troops from Iraq and Afghanistan and release all Muslim captives from a London prison.
