Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting early this morning in which a man shot another man while trying to intervene in a couple's argument.
The shooting occurred after 4 a.m. at E. 8th Avenue and N. 21st Street, the Tampa Police Department said.
Police did not release the names of people involved.
It started with an argument between a couple during which the man started hitting the woman, police said. When another man tried to intervene, the two men began their own argument and the person trying to break up the dispute pulled a gun and fatally shot the man fighting with the woman, police said.
Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting.
