A Red Cross official says a school has collapsed in northern Haiti, killing three children.
Red Cross spokesman Pericles Jean-Baptiste says the children were in the school when a wall collapsed at about noon Monday in the city of Cap-Haitien, about 80 miles (130 kilometers) north of the country's quake-shattered capital.
Officials say the area saw heavy rains and a small earthquake overnight, though the cause of the collapse is not immediately clear. The quake was not recorded by the U.S. Geological Survey.
A magnitude-7 quake on Jan. 12 near Port-au-Prince killed roughly 200,000 people.
Schools reopened last week in the north but they remain closed in the capital.
Meanwhile in Port-au-Prince, a power outage delayed a ruling on whether 10 Americans charged with child kidnapping can be released.
Prosecutor Josephe Manes Louis says he has written his recommendation, but the outage Monday kept him from printing it out and giving it to the judge.
He also says that because Tuesday is a national holiday, he doesn't expect the judge to issue a decision until Wednesday morning.
Manes Louis wouldn't say whether the judge could make a provisional ruling to release the group.
The Americans were arrested for trying to take 33 children out of Haiti. They say they were on humanitarian mission and only wanted to help children after the Jan. 12 earthquake.
