NASA's new dad in space says he had no problems focusing on his job while awaiting his daughter's birth.
Astronaut Randolph Bresnik said from the shuttle-station complex Tuesday that he has more than 20 years of "good Marine Corps training on compartmentalizing." He says it's a lot easier to put thoughts aside when they're about a good thing.
Bresnik's wife, Rebecca, gave birth to their second child, Abigail Mae Bresnik, late Saturday, just hours after his first spacewalk.
The astronaut says he wants to see his family as soon as possible after the shuttle lands Friday. The hatches between the craft will be sealed Tuesday afternoon, and Atlantis will depart the International Space Station on Wednesday.
