Congratulations to Aaron Norris of Deland, Fla., who submitted the top-rated image in this week’s It’s A Snap travel photo contest.
Just two weeks ago, Norris captured this serene scene of Sprague Lake in Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park while on vacation in nearby Colorado Springs, Colo.
“I’d always admired the area, and needed to get away from work,” said Norris. “I sure picked the right time, because I lucked out on the weather.” (Colorado is notorious for unpredictable, unseasonable storms).
Norris snapped the photo with his Nikon D70, and says the trick to getting his winning shot was his polarizing filter, which reduces glare, makes the blue sky bluer and enhances the image’s colors.
