Msnbc.com is looking for an editor/producer for its London team.
We are looking for a candidate with sharp editing and writing skills, a flair for headlines, and a drive to be first and best on the top stories of the day. The candidate will work closely with the msnbc.com newsrooms in the United States and must have a keen sense of the type of stories – hard news, U.S. politics, business, sports, entertainment, etc. -- that would interest a U.S. audience.
The candidate must
-- Have at least 5 years editing/writing experience at a top-flight news organization, with Web experience preferred.
--Know how to collaborate with other teams, including multimedia editors, to enhance top stories.
--Be able to quickly write and edit daily and breaking news stories, including material from NBC News, wire services or other content partners.
This position will require close collaboration with the NBC producers and editors in London as well as with NBC’s international correspondents.
The job is based at the NBC bureau in London and involves weekend work. The candidate will need to have appropriate work papers for employment in the United Kingdom.
