FOND DU LAC - If Fond du Lac loses 850 Mercury Marine union jobs, it will be Stillwater, Oklahoma's gain.
"There are plenty of people who are excited about the potential of seeing them move down here," said Stillwater Mayor Nathan Bates.
"I think the Chamber of Commerce is doing whatever it can to help Mercury make the best choice possible."
Signs in front of a number of businesses in Stillwater show that people there are supportive of the company, anticipating new jobs coming from Fond du Lac to their hometown.
Mercury has about 400 non-union jobs at the Stillwater plant.
