A 15-year-old Volusia County girl told WESH 2 News on Sunday that she was beaten, dragged into the woods and sexually battered.
The victim said a man crept up behind her in a van, jumped out and hit her on the back of the head.
WESH 2 isn't identifying the girl, but she said she'd speak under anonymity to help find her attacker.
The girl said her headphones were on as she walked down a dirt road in her neighborhood Friday evening.
"He came up behind me and hit me in the head with something," she said.
Police said her attacker was in dark blue minivan, and they took casts of tire tracks.
"He was real fast, put my hands above my head with one hand," the victim said. "The other ripped my bra and shirt off. I got free and swiped and got him."
The victim said police found skin under her fingernails that they are processing for DNA. She said the man was between 20 and 30 years old and had three distinct scratches on his face.
"I blacked out," she said. "All I could remember is that he was smiling and laughing at me."
When she woke up, she said, her leg was injured, so she crawled to a nearby home.
"Her leg was full of dirt," said neighbor June Lysandrou.
Lysandrou answered her door, called 911 and had the 15-year-old sit down.
"She had her dungarees hanging from one ankle, her bra and undergarment all ripped," Lysandrou said. "(She) had her T-shirt off of her."
Lysandou walked WESH crews to the scene, which is only about 100 yards away from her home.
"That's where they found her shoes, pieces of clothing, all back in here," she said, pointing to a wooded area.
The victim said she got a good description of the attacker and a family member drew a sketch.
"His nose came down like a bird," the girl said. "His teeth, he had a huge gap right here. These two were turned inward toward his mouth."
In the sketch that her family member drew, the girl said she wanted to point out the attacker's hair. She said it was dark and curly, but she believes people will be able to catch him by the three scratches on his face and a missing bottom tooth.
Anyone who may have seen a man matching that description should call police immediately.
