Two men were flown to University Hospital with serious burns after a possible meth lab explosion Sunday morning, officials said

Both men suffered burns to nearly half of their bodies, dispatchers said. At least one of the victims was treated for "possible inhalation injuries," medics said.

Mt. Orab Rescue and Fire crews responded to a call concerning a burn victim who had wandered to his relatives' home on the 1900 block of Harker Waits Road around 7:15 a.m. Sunday, dispatchers said.

When the man was located, he was found to have what was initially described as burns to 40 percent of his body.

Crews then responded to a call of a structure fire at a trailer home near the intersection of Greenbush West Road and Harker Waits Road, which dispatchers said was a meth lab.

Officials said the man had wandered from the fire scene. The suspected meth lab's explosion is believed to have caused the fire.

A second victim was located shortly thereafter. The man had suffered second-degree burns over 50 percent of his body, dispatchers said.

Mt. Orab police and Brown County sheriff's deputies also went to the scene.

Emergency workers spent hours gathering evidence Sunday at the home, much to the shock of nearby neighbors who said they had no idea anything was wrong at the home..

"Having something right down the road -- with kids -- it's just scary," neighbor Donna Gullett said.

Neighbors said learning something like this was going on nearby leaves them angry.

"(I) don't like it -- don't like it one bit. Like I told my wife earlier, if I'd have known this was going on before they burnt their house down, I would have called the sheriff and reported them because I don't like that stuff. I've got grandkids and I just don't want it around," neighbor Michael Gullett said.

Other neighbors said meth has been an increasing problem in the area. They've had break-ins and violence that they think is because of other meth labs in the area.

The case is the second for Brown County authorities in less than a week. Deputies discovered another lab in Hamersville on Wednesday night when they went to serve a search warrant in an unrelated case.
