Postal workers were collecting mail in the parking lot of the Morrisville Post Office Friday afternoon after power lines to the building were knocked out by a tractor trailer making a delivery.

A tractor trailer over the 12-foot, 6-inch height limit for the delivery entrance area pulled down power lines and poles to the building at 950 W. Trenton Ave. about 2:15 p.m., postal supervisor Thomas Gamble said. Power was restored about 90 minutes later.

While power was out, customer service inside the building was unavailable. However, employees collected mail in the parking lot, Gamble said. He added that deliveries were not affected and that the post office would be open for normal hours Saturday.
