The casket of Buffalo Firefighter Jonathan Croom was led into St.Joesph Cathedral in downtown Buffalo Friday afternoon, for the second funeral celebrating the lives of two men who died fighting a fire Monday at Genesee and Burgard.
The Funeral followed a procession that began at Amigone Funeral Home at Delaware and West Ferry, that moved past Croom's Firehouse at Main and Mercer, then back to downtown Buffalo.
In an emotional rememberance, Croom's mother Angie Heusinger told those assembled in the church that "...my heart is breaking, and I will think of him everyday and miss him."
Croom's mother related that the nickname for her son was "Sim" - short for Simeon - and that he was very proud of his one year old daughter, and looking forward to the birth of his son. Croom was remembered as a family man.
Channel 7's Julie Fine is covering the funeral and will have a full report on Eyewitness News at 5, 6, & 11.
