Four men convicted in connection with a 2002 double murder in Lincoln County were sentenced Friday.
Deonte Simmons, Neccolus Munday, Charles Smith and Matthew Tolson were all convicted, along with Jamarkos Campbell, in the murders of Bo Upton and Ryan Shangraw. Both Upton and Shangraw were shot to death inside a mobile home.
Simmons, who pleaded guilty in the case, tried to take back that plea in court Friday, claiming that his mother pressured him into pleading guilty. The judge in the case denied the motion, and sentenced Simmons to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
Mundaym Smith and Tolson each received a 20 year sentence in the case. Campbell, who was convicted in a separate trial in June, is a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
