General Motors Co. said its total vehicle sales fell 2 percent in November, as improvements in its major brands were offset by declines across other noncore models.
BY THE NUMBERS: Total sales, excluding sales of heavy trucks, fell to 150,676 vehicles.
TOP SELLERS: Buick sales rose 24.8 percent, while sales of the Cadillac brand improved by 19.9 percent. Chevrolet and GMC brands posted gains as well. These gains were offset by losses at brands including Pontiac, Hummer, Saab and Saturn. GM has stopped production of the Pontiac brand, and phase out Saturn. A specialty car maker pulled out of a deal to buy Saab last week. A Hummer sale is awaiting approval by the U.S. and Chinese governments.
