Roanoke police investigate rash of tire slashings

The Roanoke Police Department is investigating a rash of tire slashings in the southeast area of the city. Officers were called to the 200 block of Mountain Avenue after 2 a.m. Monday morning. Police say a citizen called about suspicious activity in the area. When officers arrived, they found 45 vehicles that had one or more tires cut. The cars were parked between the 200 and 400 blocks of Highland, Mountain, Washington, and Elm Avenues, as well as 4th Street. Police have not made any arrests.
