Thursday, Sirius XM Radio Inc. unveiled a free application for the iPhone and iPod Touch, as the satellite-radio company continues to find ways to offer its service beyond cars, given the dismal state of U.S. vehicle sales.

Sirius said users of these Apple Inc. devices who also subscribe to its Internet service could listen to 120 online channels including commercial-free Oprah Radio, MLB Home Plate, CNN, Martha Stewart, Opie & Anthony, Sirius NFL Radio and other programs.

Internet-only channels, such as Sirius XM Comedy Showcase, also will be available.

But shock jock Howard Stern, as well as MLB Play-by-Play and NFL Play-by-Play, will be kept exclusively for satellite-radio listeners.

Shares of New York-based Sirius XM fell a penny to 38 cents in morning trading.
